A few years ago I decided I needed to curtail my accessories knitting, because I already have so many hats and scarves. But sometimes, knitting a hat hits the sweet spot in just the right way, you know? Especially if you had to temporarily put away another, larger project. This is why I went to my Ravelry queue in search of a pretty but simple hat pattern.

The Seedling pattern by Alana Dakos fit the bill perfectly. The design is cute and clever without being elaborate. I picked up some green yarn at my LYS (Wollgefühl Waiblingen) and cast on the same evening.

It was a quick project without difficulty. In hindsight I wish I had used smaller needles because it’s just a tad too relaxed and slouchy in my opinion. Otherwise it’s really cute! The leaves growing out of the ribbing make me smile everytime. 🙂
