… and I’m walking around the countryside in a longsleeve jersey jacquard top because apparently I like to sweat. Well, I don’t really, but I’ve taken two weeks off from my thesis and I’m trying to catch up on fun stuff like reading, crafting, and this blog!

I’ve finished this top at some point in spring. It’s one of those “super easy” Burda patterns that you can knock out in a weekend. One day I’d like to do more challenge sewing projects again, but right now I just don’t have the headspace for it. I just need something quick and sweet that lets me do something creative with my hands, and counteracts the soulcrushing drudgery of PhD writing.

The top is obviously tight around the bust area, but otherwise I’m quite happy with it. I especially love the faux cables of the jacquard jersey. As a sidenote, it’s really hard to find jacquard jersey in Germany that isn’t Albstoffe/Hamburger Liebe, but I’m determined to not give my money to them after the racist debacle that was their Japan-inspired collection. Luckily I found a very cute alternative!
