Cheesecake isn’t my favourite. There, I said it. Yet I’m surrounded by people who actually love cheesecake. That means that I bake cheesecake more than my own favourite (marble cake for example). Luckily I found a simple and delicious recipe that I can whip up in no time but still gets lots of compliments. It’s from the German recipe site chefkoch.de, here is the link to the original. I recently made it for Phil’s birthday, and I thought I’d share a translation of the recipe here on my blog.

Easy Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients (Cheesecake Base)
- 200g flour
- 100g sugar
- 1tsp. baking soda
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 75g butter

Ingredients (Cheesecake Filling)
- 1kg low fat curd cheese
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup oil
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 500ml milk
- 1 sachet vanilla custard powder


Directions
- For the base, mix all ingredients to make a stiff dough. Spread the dough in the spring form pan.
- For the filling, mix all the ingredients with a handhelf mixer. Pour them on the base. Bake the cake at 200°C in the pre-heated oven for 55-65 min.
- Let the cake cool down before you remove the spring form pan.
