Easy Cheesecake Recipe

Cheesecake isn’t my favourite. There, I said it. Yet I’m surrounded by people who actually love cheesecake. That means that I bake cheesecake more than my own favourite (marble cake for example). Luckily I found a simple and delicious recipe that I can whip up in no time but still gets lots of compliments. It’s from the German recipe site chefkoch.de, here is the link to the original. I recently made it for Phil’s birthday, and I thought I’d share a translation of the recipe here on my blog.

Delicious and creamy – it’s a crowd-pleaser!

ca. 1h 30min
Ingredients for the crust, except I forgot the butter for the picture.

Ingredients (Cheesecake Base)

  • 200g flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 1tsp. baking soda
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 75g butter
Ingredients for the cheesecake filling.

Ingredients (Cheesecake Filling)

  • 1kg low fat curd cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 500ml milk
  • 1 sachet vanilla custard powder

  1. For the base, mix all ingredients to make a stiff dough. Spread the dough in the spring form pan.
  2. For the filling, mix all the ingredients with a handhelf mixer. Pour them on the base. Bake the cake at 200°C in the pre-heated oven for 55-65 min.
  3. Let the cake cool down before you remove the spring form pan.
Cheesecake is always a success!
