Curtains? Curtains!

I love a good curtain. I had cheerful yellow ones in my old apartment in Heidelberg. When I’d wake up in the morning, my room would be bathed in the most beautiful sun light peeking through the curtains! Here we have old creeky shutters in our bedroom. I hate them! They effectively shut out any…

Help! These sleeves suck :(

Guys, I need help. Is there any easy way to make the sleeves smaller? I haaaaaaaaaaaate how huge the puffed sleeves are, but I don’t have the time to cut new, smaller sleeves. If anyone has any ideas, I’d be so grateful! (Don’t mind the skirt hem, it’s not done yet. :P)

At some point, this mess is going to be assembled into a dress (hopefully) + Designin’ December!

Well the first day of project “Sewing my graduation dress” is over. I cut what felt like a million pattern pieces (these long ribbons were tedious as hell) and overlocked the skirt pieces. It’s been a while since I updated on the progress of my sock yarn blanket! This is a project I started way in 2012 and have been adding to faithfully everytime I had some leftovers from knitting a pair of socks. It’s a great way to tackle that leftover stash! (Has yours assumed vast proportions…

Pocahontas Cosplay – Sewing Part I

As we have seen last time, I had bought gorgeous, buttery soft fabric, so now I was ready to cut into it. When I first mentioned the cosplay idea on here, Meike of Schnitterling suggested to use the Cambie pattern as a template for the Pocahontas dress. This really was a great idea! I had bought…
