Back to Basics: Toe-Up Socks

It’s sometimes very comforting to repeat yourself. I’ve made this pattern for my uncle many times. I’ve made them with two colours as intended. I’ve made them with one colour, in moss stitch, with a twist at the top. It’s safe to say: I like knitting these socks, he likes wearing them. It’s a win-win situation all around.

This year I made them with one colour in a DK yarn instead of worsted. Why? I’d like to say artistic licence, but the truth is that I was in a hurry and bought a yarn that had the wrong weight. It’s convenient that I’ve tracked my knitting faithfully on Ravelry over the years, because I could look up which needle size I used in the previous projects. Since I had knitted with 3.00mm needles then, I went up to size 3.5 this time. As you can see, they fit just fine!
